Sandra Summers SWA, SBA Fellow

I started my career as a florist when I was in my twenties and this is where my love for flowers first began.

I took up painting in 1983 trying various media, later specialising in watercolour leaving the luminosity of the paper to shine through.

I find watercolour so sympathetic to the subjects I portray. I enjoy painting many subjects but I am mostly known for my floral paintings.

By 1993 I had my first solo exhibition in the Fairfield Halls, Croydon and have exhibited in many places every year since and have been tutoring floral painting for over 20 years.

I was a member of The Society of Floral Painters, and currently a member of the Society of Women Artists and The Society of Botanical Artists.
